Short film "Halfway"

In recent years, an increasing number of Indigenous directors have been creating stories about their own communities. However, Indigenous film and television professionals remain a minority within production teams. The Indigenous Film Academy aims to return the narrative authority to the communities themselves. As a result, Taiwan's first film crew composed entirely of Indigenous peoples was established. The actors are tribal members, the filming locations are within the tribes, and the scripts tell stories of Indigenous communities. Together, we create, shoot, and produce these works collaboratively.

The short film production is a continuation of the first film-themed course. The students trained during the first session formed the core of the film crew, while students from the second session were also invited to participate. Each student selected their roles for the production based on their expertise and interests, applying what they learned during the course to real-world filmmaking. This approach not only deepened their understanding of the course material but also highlighted their growth and increasing proficiency as crew members. This continuous learning and practice environment fosters the development of students' comprehensive and professional filmmaking skills.
